The AG Mechanics Team from GHS takes State!

It's on to Nationals for this team! Way to go!!! There are no school size divisions for the competition, so this team is the BEST in the entire State!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Lynn Bataillon for earning the 2012 Eleventh District First Place Prize in the Texas District

11 Congressional Art Competition for her piece “Pandora.”

Lynn’s artwork will hang in the Capitol for one year along with other District winning pieces from around the country. In June, she will have the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. to meet me, tour the Capitol and take part in the Congressional Art Competition ribbon cutting ceremony. There are 36 counties in TX District 11 and all school districts are invited to compete. Three works from each school may be entered. Artworks by Lauren Plagens and Stephanie Cloyd also were selected to represent GHS. Lynn is the 4th Goldthwaite High School student to win this honor.

Description of the winning piece: “Still life of temptation in the dark created with oil sticks on textured paper. Reflections of light and complementary colors are dramatically portrayed.”
